UPDATES: NEW BOLINAS PARKING ORDINANCES 04.03.25
The Bolinas Community Public Utility District (BCPUD), under the guidance of the County of Marin and the Marin County Sheriff's Office, is now accepting applications for permits from eligible residents who live on sections of Brighton Avenue and Wharf Road who are subject to new County of Marin parking restrictions. Only residents within very specific overnight parking restricted areas are being invited to apply for a parking permit exempting them from the new parking restriction to be posted as "no overnight parking between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.” California Coastal Commission regulations limit the number of parking spaces available for restricted parking, therefore the County of Marin allocated a finite number of permits for distribution, limiting the number that the BCPUD can provide.
Permits will be issued after May 1, 2025, the closing date for the application. Application materials have been sent by email (where addresses are available) and by the U.S. Postal Service. We expect signs to be posted within the next 6 weeks and enforcement by the Marin County Sheriff to begin soon thereafter. Please let family members and guests know of this pending change to overnight parking.
Two new county ordinances will also be in effect. There are new restrictions on vehicle length; one restriction will be at all times on Wharf Road, and the other will restrict overnight parking on Brighton Ave. In light of the new parking restrictions, Measure X will no longer be in effect and that signage will be removed. Please go to our website at bcpud.org for more information on the Permit Program, including a link to the map showing the various restrictions on Brighton and Wharf roads. The website also contains details regarding the new ordinances as well as the history of the program.
